None of the judges turn for the first act
Fans who tuned into this week’s The Voice were quick to accuse the ITV show of being “fixed”. During Saturday’s show, viewers fumed as judges ended up not turning their chairs for some “great” acts.
One included a country singer who the crowd roared for but failed to get through to the next stage based on the judges’ decisions. Others also blasted the show for presenting spontaneous moments as unplanned, such as a mother who joined her daughter on stage to sing ‘Tennessee Whiskey’.
The first act impressed viewers watching from home, but sadly none of the judges turned for singer Liam. As the judges realised none of them had given Liam a chance, judge Anne-Marie commented: “Oh no!”
She continued: “There were some parts [of the song] I liked, but then other parts I didn’t, and they overtook the bits I liked.”
“He wasn’t quite what I’m looking for, but very good – I enjoyed it,” Sir Tom Jones added, continuing: “He sang really well.”

“I’m pretty gutted, pretty devastated,” the contestant later commented. Taking to X, @gbdhl fumed following the moment: “What a fix, the band were able to play Tennessee Whisky of the cuff #voice.”
@JustinGrainge11 added: “#thevoice bunch of k***s, he was great, stop pretending you like someone when you don’t, shame on you.”
Meanwhile, @DohertyGraham89 shared: “#thevoice Sorry judges, but he was good you missed a good one.”

@Tom_Muzzy_2001 commented: “Yes this show is 100 per cent fixed. @itv time to scrap it or make it return where it was better anyway on the @BBC.”
“#TheVoiceUK is fixed,” @PaulMar21281685 shared, while @sueyh31 remarked: “Getting to think more and more that this ‘contest’ is fixed #thevoiceuk.”
@Catsmoo1 posted: “I don’t watch #TheVoice but just caught a bit. The reason I HATE these shows. It doesn’t matter how good/bad you are, they are only interested in generic s***e. Nothing different.”
Earlier this year, judge Olly Murs detailed his friendship with Sir Tom in an interview with Express.co.uk.
The former X Factor star said of the judges on The Voice: “I get on with all of them, but I would say that I never in my wildest dreams expected me and Sir Tom to get on as well as we do.
“Purely on the basis that we’re so different in our personalities. He’s also a lot older than me, we’re in different stages in our lives.”
The Voice continues on Saturday at 8.30pm on ITV.
