This Morning’s Holly and Phil ‘barely speaking’ as ‘she’d do show without him’

ITV This Morning stars Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are reportedly "barely speaking" off-camera.

According to reports, their longterm friendship has had issues for "some times" due to the future of their ITV roles.

A source told The Sun: “Should he leave, she’d want to stay.”

Holly, 42, and Phil, 61, have fronted the hit ITV daytime show for 14 years but in recent months their bond has come under strain, with Holly reportedly "distancing herself" from her co-star.

This comes after his brother’s recent court case which accused him of sexual assault with a minor.

The insider continued: “Holly adores This Morning and for the first time in 14 years she has made it clear that should Phil ever leave she would want to stay. They are separate entities.

“To those around them on set, it has become clear recently that Holly and Phil are not as close as they once were.

“Professionally you would have no idea there was anything going on because on camera they are acting exactly the same.

"But behind the scenes their relationship has cooled. Before there would be a lot of banter and camaraderie off-camera but that has dwindled.”

The presenting pair’s reign has given them huge success and industry recognition, which includes 12 National Television Awards.

However, allegedly staffers told the title that they only seem to currently speak to one another when the cameras are rolling.

The source also let on that despite the duo going through "rough patches" before, which they've been able to move on from, this time it "seems different.”

Holly first took on the ITV daytime position when she replaced Fern Britton in 2009.

This was reported helped by her pal Phil who asked producers to bring her on board, as they grew close while hosting Dancing On Ice.

They worked on the skating show together from 2006 and over the years have become so close that they've even taken holidays with their extended families.

Phil even dubbed Holly as his “rock” when he came out as gay on This Morning back in February 2020.

Though unfortunately for the pair, events throughout the past year have allegedly put a "strain" on their relationship.

The Daily Star has reached out to Holly and Phil's reps.
