Three Coronation Street theories: baby drama and stalker has mystery ally | The Sun

VIEWERS were shocked when Daisy Midgeley and Ryan Connor allowed their mutual attraction to lead them to bed.

But could things get more serious for them? Here are events that could be the cause of chaos this week in Coronation Street.

1. Baby bombshell

Love rivalry is rife in the ITV cobbles and another triangle has taken shape in recent scenes of the Manchester-based drama.

After saving Daisy Midgeley (played by Charlotte Jordan) from an acid attack, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) has struggled to keep his romantic feelings for her under wraps.

The pair have shared a troubled history and appeared to have bonded platonically but things took a turn when Justin Rutherford's actions led to them spending more time connecting.

Daisy and Ryan let loose, allowing their feelings to lead them straight into bed together and, in scenes airing this week, Ryan is unable to contain how he feels despite Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) blackmailing him for money.

Corrie fans call out glaring blunder as Ryan, Daisy and Michael lose their jobs

Coming up in the Bistro, Daisy’s annoyed to clock a customer staring at Ryan’s scars.

When Ryan calmly explains that he was the victim of an acid attack, Daisy is full of admiration for him.

As Daisy praises Ryan for the way he’s coped with his injuries and Ryan admits he couldn’t have done it without her, it’s clear they still have feelings for each other.

When Ryan later admits that he’s in love with Daisy and reckons she feels the same, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) advises him to steer well clear as he’ll end up getting hurt.

This is mostly due to the fact that the former Rovers barmaid has agreed to marry another resident – her long-term boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

Blissfully unaware of what is really going on between Ryan and his fiancée, Daniel tells Daisy that he plans to take Bertie to visit Sinead’s grave later as it’s four years since her death.

Able to keep up appearances, Daisy squeezes his hand supportively.

Much to her shock, however, Daniel then suggests to Daisy he’ll sell his mother’s house and buy Elaine Jones’ flat in Redbank.

When Daisy suggests they delay moving until she’s got a proper job, Daniel is disappointed.

Viewers of the Manchester-based program have taken to social media, more particularly X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their theories about Daisy and Ryan's love affair.

According to them, the former Rovers barmaid could be thrown in a pregnancy ordeal and, much like Sarah Platt before her, be completely unaware of who the father of her baby is.

"Daisy will probably end up pregnant very soon", one fan speculated.

Another viewer went a step further: "Either Daisy & Ryan’s affair will be the Christmas Day reveal OR Daisy finds out she’s pregnant?"

"That’s the summer baby storyline for Daisy and Ryan", a third fan added.

Could Daisy be pregnant after her tryst with Ryan?

2. Shock stalker connection

Speaking of Daisy and Ryan, one resident figured out they were seeing each other behind Daniel Osbourne's back and, as mentioned above, has been trying to blackmail the pair.

Unfortunately for Lauren Bolton, her plan fails this week.

Coming up, Lauren answers her phone and assures the caller she’s got their money and she’ll deliver it later.

She tells an angry Ryan that she is having a bad time and has to get the money.

A furious Daisy comes into the café later on and spells out to Lauren that she won’t be blackmailed by a worthless brat such as her and she won’t be getting another penny.

How will Lauren react?

Who does she owe money to?

What will she do to get it?

One fan suggested that she could be secretly related to another Weatherfield villain who has a dark history with Daisy Midgeley.

"Do you reckon Lauren is related to Justin?", they commented.

"And, Justin was on the phone? I haven’t read this anywhere, I’m just thinking, she doesn’t want to blackmail Ryan but when he’s in the room she’s committed to blackmailing him? Just seems odd."

Lauren is known to get involved with the wrong people – could Justin be one of them?

3. Downward spiral for fan favourite

Peter Barlow has recently been accused of killing Stephen Reid.

This week, Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) gets arrested as he gets suspected of working with the serial killer to steal funds from the Underworld factory.

However, actor Chris Gascoyne has hinted his character won't be out of the woods any time, particularly as his wife Carla Connor (Alison King) left for Spain to save her business.

According to the departing soap star, who is due to take a break from life in Weatherfield after more than two decades, Peter could be set for a harrowing relapse in alcoholism.

"As we know Peter has been through a lot and there is no doubt that he will be tempted to drink which really would be a decision to kill the pain and kill himself through alcohol, he knows that", Chris explained.

"This is a real danger zone for him. He has taken a man’s life and even if he goes to prison he will have to live with that, he will always suffer."

He added: "It will be interesting to see how he deals with his demons."
