Tipping Point viewers are blasting a “smug” player for making rude remarks as she appeared to leave her rival contestants “fuming”.
Millions of viewers tuned into Thursday’s episode of the popular ITV game show (September 28) as players Joan, Paul and Kerri all battled it out to take home a £10k cash prize. But it was player Joan, a former college coordinator from the West Midlands, who had viewers and her fellow contestants riled up.
As Kerri and Paul all made significant moves in the machine building up to a huge drop, Joan swooped in and landed a whopping 15 counters. Marvelling in her good luck, Joan, who was seen sitting in a chair in the episode, commented “thanks” to the other players, before landing another substantial drop and thanking them again.

“Thanks Kerri” she shouted across the studio as she looked back unamused. But fans found the comments to be disingenuous, accusing her of being “smug”.
“Any more smug comments by Joan one of the other 2 will kick her chair away,” blasted one fan. “Another unnecessary smug comment there by Joan. Cone on Kerri!” penned a second, while a third added: “Kerri is fuming at that drop from Joan!”
Kerri was soon seen packing her bags as she was booted off first having only landed £50 versus Joan’s whopping £1250. Paul managed to keep up landing £750 as the pair went on to battle it out for a spot in the final.
Joan soon sent Paul home and landed her place in the final. She was unable to land the jackpot counter and decided to take home her winnings of £2500. After playing the final three counters to see what the result would have been, Joan managed to land to the counter but was unable to take the money home.
The episode comes shortly after the show received praise for its steps towards inclusivity for a deaf contestant. An episode of the ITV gameshow last month included player Martine, the show's first-ever deaf contestant, as host Ben Shephard introduced the players.

"Martine, it’s worth mentioning to our viewers at home that you are deaf, so joining us in the studio is sign language instructor Liam," the presenter told the audience, as Liam stood next to the host to translate what was being said to the contestant.
"#TippingPoint first time I've ever seen a deaf contestant and a signer on the show, as someone who wears hearing aids, well done and hopefully we shall so more of this," one viewer wrote on Twitter/X.
"Got #tippingpoint on in the background here & it's very cool of them to have a deaf contestant on & to have a BSL interpreter in the studio giving them the questions as they're spoken," another said.
Tipping Point airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 4pm
