Ex-Love Islanders give their verdicts on 2023 stars as Tyrique is labelled naughty boy

Love Island is no stranger to opinions, particularly from those who have experienced the show firsthand. The current summer series is delivering more drama than ever, with conflicts arising left and right within just the second week.

Since the start of season 10, former Islanders have taken to social media and podcasts to express their views on the latest batch of Islanders. From team Molly to team Tyrique here's a roundup of everything ex-Islanders have shared regarding the Love Island 2023 cast.

Luca Bish

Luca, who rose to fame on the summer series in 2022, spoke in an OK! TikTok as he gave his speedy summary on the first week of this year's show.

As for fans comparing him to look-a-like Mitchel, he’s “not having it”. In the clip, he said: "So let's start off with the lookalike situation," before a snapshot of Mitchel popped up on the screen, "Are you blind? You can't see me?"

He went on: "I ain't having it. I ain't having it.

"Stop tagging me in it," as he grimaced.

Luca also revealed he does “feel for Catherine” in the Zacha-liar situation, referring to Zach's recent decision to kiss Molly Marsh in a challenge, rather than Catherine Agbaje. Gemma Owen's ex-boyfriend said: "I really do feel for Catherine and I hope someone else comes in for her, because I can't really see Zachariah – Zacha-liar – rescuing himself from that"

He also loves Medhi, branding him “one of my favourites at the minute”, although believes that he may have “signed up for the wrong show.”

Indiyah Polack

Indiyah has come to Molly’s defense when it comes to the villa drama, revealing toRadioTimes: “I don’t think Molly’s all to blame to be fair.”

In terms of whether they think it's the real deal between Zach and Molly, Indiyah added: "For me, they have a lot of sexual chemistry and flanter, but I feel like with them, it's the fear of the unknown."

As for Tyrique's recent actions, she puts it all down to his star sign. Sharing her thoughts on the episodes via Twitter, Indiyah wrote: "Tyrique accidentally flirting his way into a new couple," concluding, "Aries men."

Olivia Hawkins

Olivia is also team Molly, writing in herrecent OK! column: “I think Molly [Marsh] is getting a lot of stick on Love Island at the moment, and I don't think it's fair.

“She's doing the process – how it should be done – and she's getting to know multiple people. There's nothing wrong with that. It's only Day 6.”

She also suggested that jealousy may be at the bottom of the rift between Jess and Molly, revealing: “I think Molly and Jess will clash – probably more than once throughout their time in the villa.

“It could maybe be a jealousy thing from Jess' point of view, as Molly is getting a lot of male attention, whereas Jess hasn't really clicked with anyone.”

The former Islander also revealed she felt sorry for George as the first person to leave the villa, adding: "I feel that his time was cut short, and I think he had a lot of potential – so I was actually gutted that he left.

"His personality was starting to come out and I actually enjoyed his Dad jokes. I think the Love Island viewers would have fallen in love with him if he had stayed in there longer."

As for the remaining new bombshells, Olivia thinks heads will turn and she sees fireworks for Tyrique and Ella. Olivia revealed: "I definitely think that Tyrique is going to explore his options when they come in – which won't be taken lying down by Ella as she's quite feisty."

Dami Hope

Dami has established himself as an avid tweeter since his appearance on the winter series, and he hasn't been shy about expressing his opinions regarding this year's crop of Islanders.

Much like Indiyah, Dami thoroughly enjoys the drama that Tyrique brings to the villa, tweeting: “Tyrique is a naughty naughty boy but I love it.”

Dami also revealed which couple he was rooting for, tweeting: “Ella and Tyrique are mad cute together man, think this may be my ship for real.”

Another fave of his is Jess, as the former Islander tweeted: "Personally I like people with backbone, Jess don’t disappoint me here."

As for least favourite Islander, Dami definitely has some questions about Mitch and his infatuation with Molly. After Wednesday night's recoupling, Dami tweeted: "Bruh people have been delusional before but Mitch is from a diff planet of delusion, he’s even scaring me."

Shaughna Phillips

Shaughna, known for her appearance on the first winter edition of Love Island, has been actively voicing her thoughts on the Islanders on Twitter along with everyone else. Just like the majority of Love Island viewers, Shaughna has developed a love for Whitney, tweeting: “Whitney is the most unproblematic Islander to ever exist. Just good vibes and giggles.”

As for the Molly and Mitch drama, Shaughna tweeted: "Molly needs a restraining order and a personal space whistle."

Chloe Burrows

Shaughna isn't the only Islander who is thoroughly enjoying Whitney's presence in the villa. Chloe, also known for frequently sharing her thoughts on each episode of the show via Twitter, is another ex-Islander who hasn't been shy about expressing her opinions about the Love Island 2023 cast.

“Whitney is f***king jokes give her more air time,” she wrote in one tweet.

In another, she expressed her enthusiasm for the cast overall this season, penning: "This season really has the makings to be as fab as season 2 lol YHHH I SAID IT."

Kai Fagan

After the recoupling episode which saw Leah choose to couple up with Tyrique, Kai took to TikTok to share some thoughts on the Ella and Tyrique situation.

The winter Love Island winner said: “I wanna come on here and say it first, I think Tyrique and Ella are going to be one of the strongest couples by the end of the show.”

He said the “disappointment in Tyrique’s face” when Leah chose him spoke volumes, and said “Leah can’t accept that” and she should want to be somebody’s first choice.

Kai also suggested that Tyrique “likes Ella more than he’s letting on to her” adding: “[Tyrique’s] telling her he likes her and he’s saying he wants to explore other connections, but I think he’s just playing that game. I think he’s just trying to treat them mean keep them keen and all that.”

Kai concluded with a very bold statement: “You heard it here first, Tyrique will get back with Ella and them two, they will flourish and they will blossom and they’ll be one of the strongest couples. I am backing them now. It’s gonna be them two.”
