TOWIE star eyes up EastEnders villain role as he plans to replace Phil Mitchell

TOWIE hunk James Lock has eyed up a stint on EastEnders and warns BBC fans that he could be the new soap villain.

The 36-year-old hunk first rose to fame when he joined the cast of the ITVBe’s hit reality show back in 2013. But it’s fair to say the TV personality has come on leaps and bounds since then.

He had appeared on Celebs Go Dating and most recently took part on the gruelling TV show The Challenge which pushes contestants to their limits both physically and mentally. He showed off his incredible strength and determination alongside Curtis and AJ Pritchard,Love Islandbombshell’s Kaz Crossley and Kaz Kamwi.

But now, the reality star has decided to dip his toe in the world of acting and he’s hoping to move in Walford. In an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the reality star has shared his ambitions in the BBC soap.

He begged: “Get me in the Queen Vic! I’m gonna be the new Phil Mitchell but with hair, he's just got the right energy for me. EastEnders would be perfect for me, wouldn’t it?”

When asked what sort of character he’d like to play, he went on: “I think I'd wanna be the villain, they always have the best storylines, don’t they? Like even on TOWIE I was a bit of a villain and I think the villains always seem to have more longevity than heroes in the end.”

The TV star would be joining the square at a particularly difficult time as fans anxiously wait to see which male character will be murdered in this year’s epic Christmas special. Viewers have been desperately trying to work out who could be the deadly killer.

In the shocking flashforward scene last year, viewers saw six female suspects standing around the body. Stacey Slater, Sharon Watts, Linda Carter Denise Fox, Kathy Beale and Suki Panesar all appear to have been in some sort of showdown in the pub at the time of the murder.

Since the dramatic scene hit the airwaves, social media has been swarmed with convincing theories online behind the suspicious death. Fans will have to stay tuned to see who the real killer is over the festive period.

It comes after the TV star hinted that he’d love to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! after competing on The Challenge. He exclusively told us: “I would love to do them on shows because it forces me to step out of my comfort zone.

“I’d love to go into the jungle like Tarzan, swinging through the trees. A lot of people say things don’t faze me but what it is is I don’t overthink thinks, if that makes sense.

“If I think about something it will worry me. Don’t get me wrong if I saw a snake I'd be s***ing it but I don’t overthink it and I just try and get things done.

“I mean, I’m saying this now, but when I’m in that situation, I might have a different reaction. I’ve done a few good food-based stuff that I've done on The Challenge.

“We had to do an eating challenge and one of the challenges was eating pigs brains but I did it straight away – they actually thought I'd cheated! I’d done it that quickly that they thought I'd cheated.”

It was at this point that he advised fellow campmates on how to endure some of the more disgusting challenges on the show. He went on: “The trick was not to breathe it in, so you don’t smell it.

“I just swallowed it, that was my trick. Honestly, I didn’t smell it, I just pinched my nose and threw it back in one shot and that was it.”
