Vanderpump Rules’ Katie Maloney weighs in on Sandoval affair drama

Katie Maloney weighs in on Sandoval drama

Following the fallout of Tom Sandoval’s affair accusations last month which claimed that the reality star hadn’t been faithful to his girlfriend of nine years, Katie Maloney has given her take on the situation. The reality star and former wife of Sandoval claimed that “there was something off about the situation” as she reflected on past events.

Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney appeared on Nick Viall’s podcast, Viall Flies, this week, where she discussed the recent Tom Sandoval affair scandal.

It comes after it was revealed that Sandoval had split from his partner Ariana Madix after being together for nine years.

Reports suggested that the couple split after rumours circulated that Sandoval had cheated on Madix with fellow Vanderpump Rules star Raquel Leviss.

Following all the drama involving her ex-husband, Maloney claims she had picked up on a few red flags while watching the scandal play out from a “bird’s eye view”.

The reality star told Viall that she noticed that Sandoval and Leviss were “very close” before news broke of the affair, despite being “on the outside” of their friend group.

Maloney recalled her realisation, saying: “I started realising … when Ariana [Madix] is not around, they’ll still be hanging out.

“If Ariana chooses not to go to a party or an event, Tom and Raquel will just go together,” she added.

Maloney also noted that while it is normal to have “platonic friends … there was something off about the situation,” when it came to Sandoval and Leviss’ relationship.

She insisted: “Something reeked of [cheating] to me,” as she admitted she always felt suspicious of Sandoval.

Looking back now, Maloney claimed that if had a closer relationship with Leviss and Sandoval, she would have called out their matching lightning bolt necklaces that the pair both shared.

She explained: “I notice things my friends are wearing, especially something all the time, [and ask], ‘Is that new? What’s the significance?’

“A lightning bolt [is] not, like, a heart or a butterfly,” she continued, as she noted: “It’s not like it’s cute.”

Maloney noted that because she was looking on from “the cheap seats,” she “could see everything that was happening.”

She explained how Sandoval’s girlfriend at the time, Madix, did not notice his ongoing betrayal until she found an explicit video of Leviss on Sandoval’s phone in March.

Maloney also claimed that Sandoval wouldn’t remain loyal to his best friend Tom Schwartz, as she warned him to distance himself from Sandoval.

She explained her claim, saying: “And because Schwartz is kind of, like, wants to just go with the flow and doesn’t want to be confrontational about things had the roles been reversed.

“Let’s say in this whole situation with the Sandoval — I told him that, you know, ‘I think Tom would throw you under the bus and save himself.’”
