Welcome to Plathville season four teased in TLC trailer

Micah Meggs has died aged 15 after being killed last Thursday in a car accident.

The brother of reality star Olivia Plath died at the scene after a collision with a Honda Accord in Franklin County, Virginia.

According to The Roanoke Times, the teen was riding his electric bike when the incident occurred.

Olivia later took to her Instagram Stories to tell her followers the devastating news.

“I lost a younger brother last night to an unexpected accident and I need some clarity and space for grieving,” she wrote.

She revealed she was “jumping off of social media for a bit” and “taking some space now” to deal with Micah’s loss.

The driver of the Honda did not suffer any injuries in the accident.

Micah was also one of 10 children and is survived by his parents Don and Karen Meggs.

The 15-year-old suffered from cerebral palsy due to an injury to nerves in his shoulder during birth.

He is also remembered by his grandmothers, siblings Elijah, Joshua, Elise, Olivia, Lydia, Sophia, Nathan, Carris and Kirsten, and nieces and nephews.

The Plath family suffered a similar tragedy in 2008 when Kim lost her 17-month-old son Joshua in an accident on their farm.

Micah’s family said his “fun-loving and intrepid determination characterised his life.”

His obituary on Flora Funeral Service reads: “When he wasn’t outdoors, Micah loved to hang out with his siblings and a few close friends, playing practical jokes, sharing his understated sense of humour and bringing laughs to those he loved.

“Despite the physical difficulties he experienced, Micah never complained or let himself be limited by his disability and continually found ways to pursue his outdoor activities despite this struggle.

“Micah brought tremendous light, laughter and love into every life he touched and his presence will be greatly missed.”

Mourners are also encouraged to donate to the Brachial Plexus foundation in Micah’s name at ubpn.org.

A Celebration of Life for Micah will be held at the Flora Funeral Chapel this week.

Welcome to Plathville airs on TLC in the USA.
