Who did Darren Kent play in EastEnders? | The Sun

THE small screen is in mourning following the news of Darren Kent's death at the age of 36.

While he was known for his stint in Game of Thrones, the actor also had a small part in EastEnders. Who did he play?

Who was Darren Kent and who did he play in EastEnders?

Many fans of the HBO series may remember him as a goat herder devastated by the loss of his three-year-old daughter.

Born and raised in Essex, Darren Kent made his lone appearance in Game of Thrones in June, 2014, and was shown dropping the charred remains of his young child, who had been killed by Drogon, at the foot of a horrified Daenerys Targaryen.

Although the short appearance catapulted him into the spotlight, this was far from his first ever role as Darren Kent was an experienced actor and director.

Darren kicked off his acting career in 2004 as he was studying at the Italia Conti Academy in Woking, with the uncredited role of Cole in Shameless.

Three years later, shortly after his graduation, he went on to become a Pontins Bluecoat but his entertainment career didn't stop him from seeking roles on both the small and silver screens.

In 2008, he got his foot in the door of the cinematic world with a small role in the 20th Century Fox film Mirrors.

This ultimately led him to appear in several other films in the likes of Snow White and The Huntsman and many short features such as Twitcher and Catford Jesus, among others.

He notably won the Best Actor Award at the Van D'or Awards Ceremony in 2012 for the character Danny in the short film Sunnyboy.

His TV work was also growing as he appeared in numerous series such as Marshal's Law, Bloody Cuts, The Frankenstein Chronicles, Blood Drive, Les Misérables, Green Fingers, Happy Hours and Malpractice.

Darren eventually made his mark as a director in 2021 when the BBC asked him to direct the series The Break.

The following year, in February, 2022, Darren appeared in soap land for the first time as he was asked to play the part of Scott in EastEnders.

Scott is a builder who was seen in two episodes of the London-based drama as he inspected The Argee Bhajee following a gas leak.

During his time in The Square, Scott encountered serial killer Gray Atkins who pretended to be Insurance Broker for Owners David Harrison.

The builder told Gray it was lucky nobody had been killed and that he had to check if nothing had shifted below the ground.

Gray panicked as this meant his involvement in Tina Carter's death could have been exposed but the following day, Scott told the solicitor they had ran out of money and couldn't go ahead with the search as a result.
