ACTRESS Jodie Prenger has just landed her 'dream part' on the ITV soap Coronation Street.
The 43-year-old shot to fame after winning BBC talent show I'd Do Anything in 2008.
Who is Jodie Prenger?
Jodie Prenger is a 43-year-old English actress and singer.
She was born June 12, 1979, in Blackpool and was educated at Elmslie Girls' School.
She has performed extensively on the cabaret circuit in Blackpool and Fylde coast where she has also worked as an agony aunt.
In 1998, Jodie was appearing in two different shows each night in two Blackpool theatres.
Prenger made her first TV appearance in 1999 when she appeared on A Taste for Travel with her mother.
Then in 2000, she took part in Dale Winton's show The Other Half on BBC One where she had to pretend to be the wife of boxer Chris Eubank.
Later that year, she played the role of the good witch Hurricane in Halloween Spectacular on Ice at Alton Towers.
In 2001, she spent eight months aboard the cruise ship Disney Wonder as one of four main entertainers.

What TV shows has she been in?
In 2013, she participated in Let's Dance for Comic Relief, where she finished second place to Antony Cotton.
In July 2009, Prenger was a guest panellist on ITV's Loose Women.
Prenger would occasionally present the midweek National Lottery draw on BBC One.
In June 2011, she appeared in an episode of Waterloo Road as Linda Wickes.

She has also been a regular contributor on The Alan Titchmarsh Show and This Morning.
And frequently sits in for Paul O'Grady and Elaine Paige, when they are absent from their BBC Radio 2 shows.
In December 2011, she appeared on CBeebies Justin's House.
When is she joining Coronation Street?
Prenger is set to play cruise performer Glenda, the sister of Coronation Street undertaker George Shuttleworth, played by Tony Maudsley.
Her character will first appear on screens in August straight from a stint on the cruise ships and quickly finds a job behind the bar of the Rovers.
Speaking about joining the ITV soap, she said: "I know I sound like a soppy sod, but it's been on my bucket list to be in Coronation Street since I was little.
"It's an honour, it truly is a very special moment in my life. To be part of something my family and I have loved for so long. And what a character, oh I have to say, total dream part.'"
Is Jodie married and does she have children?
In April 2012, Prenger announced her engagement to Simon Booth.
The news came shortly after her father Marty sadly died of kidney cancer.
Speaking to Hello! magazine at the time, she explained: "I'm just so glad Dad knew I was going to be taken care of. Dad loved Simon like a son and always said I'd be safe with him. Simon's a good man with a good soul, just like my dad."
The actress was previously engaged to Steve Greengrass, who proposed to her after the Saturday show in week three of I'd Do Anything on April 12, 2008.

However, it wasn't meant to be and she ended things with him a few weeks before the show's finale.
As of yet, Prenger has no children and is not married.
