ALEJANDRA Silva is the woman who surprised all when she announced her relationship with Richard Gere despite their 33-year age gap.
Since the beginning of their whirlwind romance, the couple seem inseparable.
Who is Alejandra Silva?
Alejandra, 37, is a Spanish publicist and activist. She is from Madrid and was born in February 1983.
She went to school in Dorset though and even did her A-levels there.
But Alejandra returned to her native Spain to study advertising and marketing.
Alejandra has been married before – to Govind Friedland – and the pair share a son, Albert, five.
She is a keen human rights activist and in 2007 promoted a non-profit initiative with the supermodel Karolina Kurkova called Beautiful Life Fund.
Then in 2010 she participated in the Real Madrid Football Club Foundation African Initiative Project by creating soccer leagues to help integrate underprivileged children within their local communities and promote sports amongst African families.
When did they get married and how many children do they have?
The pair actually first met when Alejandra was a little girl as Gere is a family friend.
They then reconnected in 2014 at a hotel that Alejandra was managing – the Treville hotel in Positano, Italy.
Apparently a friend re-introduced them and they both instantly felt a "very strong connection".
She said that the actor sent her flowers until she agreed to go on a date with him and that he "regularly writes her songs".
In 2018, the pair got married in a secret weeding in New York.
According to Hello! magazine the couple wed at Gere's ranch.
They converted the property into an Indian-inspired fairytale with imported tents from Jaipur and Tibetan decorations.
Silva and Gere also arrived at the ceremony in a tuk-tuk.
Guests included chef Eric Ripert and composer Bette Sussman, as well as actress Saundra Santiago.
The pair now have two children together, having welcomed their second son in 2020.

Who else has Richard Gere been married to?
Richard has dated some of the world’s most famous women, including Priscilla Presley and Kim Basinger.
He wed supermodel Cindy Crawford in 1991, but they split in 1995.
He then married model and actress Carey Lowell in 2002.
They have a son, Homer James Jigme Gere, who was born in 2000, but separated after 11 years of marriage in 2013.
