A TEENAGE boy has died in hospital after being pulled for the sea amid a massive search mission.
Emergency services were scrambled to Wales' Aberavon Beach last night after reports the youngster, 15, had got into trouble in the water.
He was raced to hospital but police confirmed this morning that he had tragically died.
Police, Coastguard and the Air Ambulance could be seen swarming the waterfront at around 7pm on Monday.
The boy was said to have got into trouble in the ocean and was fighting for his life when he was rescued.
South Wales Police Chief Inspector Richard Haines said: "Shortly before 7.10pm, officers were called to a report of a boy in the sea at Aberavon Beach, PortTalbot.

"We attended with a number of other emergency services.
"A 15-year-old boy was located and despite the best efforts of members of the public and emergency services he sadly passed away.
"Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact us quoting 2300202601."
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman initially said: “We were called on Monday, June 19, to reports of a medical emergency at Mariners Quay, Port Talbot.

"We sent one emergency ambulance, two rapid response vehicles, a duty operations manager, and our crews were supported by Wales Air Ambulance.”
