An armed man is holed up in a hotel room at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, making threats and prompting a large police presence on the Strip.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said they received a report of a domestic violence disturbance at the hotel and casino at around 9.15am Tuesday.
When they tried to make contact with the occupants of the room, a man refused to open the door and said he was armed.
Police and SWAT teams have now been deployed to the hotel, and crisis negotiators are said to be on their way.
‘We are actively trying to resolve this situation,’ the police department tweeted, as it urged the public to avoid the area.
