‘Hippy crack speed racer’ crashes into car after drifting at ’80MPH’ on Birmingham roundabout before ‘trying to flee scene of smash’

A suspected speed racer crashed into a car while apparently attempting to drift at high speed before allegedly trying to flee the scene of the smash, according to a clip posted on TikTok.
The clip, which was posted by user @azzy__7, shows a gang of youths gathered around a damaged Audi, with the caption reading ‘Doing balloons and trying to drift…crashes and then runs off’.
A gang of youths are seen inspecting the damage and huddling round a number of vehicles before two are spotted sprinting away from the crash.
The incident occurred off an industrial estate on Nechells Place.

West Midlands traffic police tweeted that their officers had been made aware of the incident and that prosecutions were ‘to follow’.
The announcement read: ‘#RHPT Officers on duty tonight taking action against irresponsible drivers. Prosecutions to follow for a number of drivers travelling at inappropriate speeds using the A47.’
One Twitter user responded to the tweet from the police asking why average speed cameras aren’t fitted along the road already.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police told MailOnline that they are aware of the incident.
