A BRIT tourist has died after being mugged in a horror attack at a mountain beauty spot in Colombia.

The 34-year-old is understood to have been smashed over the head with a pistol by a gang of three men after he hiked to the Hill of Three Crosses in Medellin.

The Swedish-born man was left to die by the attackers and was found in a critical condition two days after disappearing.

He was rushed to hospital – but tragically died on Wednesday after medics battled to save him.

The man had a British passport and lived and worked in the town of Ashford in Kent, according to reports.

His body is now at Medellin’s Forensic Medicine Institute.

He was found at the bottom of a drop near the top of the hill where he is thought to have been attacked.

He reportedly managed to tell medics he had been mugged by three men who stole all his belongings before he was raced to hospital.

The hike to the Hill of Three Crosses offers breathtaking views of the city of Medellin – the capital of Colombia’s mountainous Antioquia province.
