A BRITISH woman has been stabbed to death at her home in the city of Chieti in Italy.
Cops have launched a manhunt for the 66-year-old's husband who reportedly fled in the family car.
Police rushed to the scene in the Verratti district where they found the woman's body in a pool of blood, La Repubblica reported.
The chief prosecutor of Lanciano, Mirvana Di Serio, and the forensic police have also arrived at the site.
The woman's body was discovered by her friend who after not reaching her by phone, went to her house, about six miles from the town's centre.
The neighbours alerted the authorities after hearing the woman's screams, the outlet reports.

The Carabinieri are currently looking for the woman's husband who remains on the run after reportedly fleeing in the family car, a white Jeep Compass.
The 66-year-old Brit had been living with her husband in the countryside in Casoli, Chieti for the past three years.
The pair were described as private by locals who said they would often see them taking walks with their three dogs.
A murder investigation has been launched.

Back in September, another British woman was stabbed to death as a pensioner was arrested for her murder.
The victim, 76, was found dead in the village of Orihuela Costa in Costa Blanca Spain.
While another Brit died in front of her horrified husband while on a dream cycling holiday abroad.
The 27-year-old hit her head on a "particularly impervious" part of the bike path along Lake Garda, Italy.
