A MAN has been killed in a horror hit and run as cops are urgently seeking the driver involved.

Investigators confirmed that the victim was fatally struck in Birmingham, West Midlands, at around 5.30pm yesterday evening.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts to revive him.

The vehicle is believed to have initially stopped before fleeing, West Midlands Police confirmed.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes of the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "We believe the car initially stopped but then drove away from the scene.

"They immediately took over and provided advance trauma care.

"Sadly, despite their best efforts, it was not possible to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
