A BOAT has gone up in flames off the North Wales coast – with emergency services rushing to the scene amid fears of casualties.

Cops, firefighters and paramedics have been scrambled to the scene in Conwy Marina, north Wales.



Locals have reportedly seen smoke billowing from several miles away.

North Wales Live reports that there may be casualties.

Witness Victoria Bennett tweeted: "The boat is named the Drum, sounded and felt like a gas tank explosion.

"Good response from other boat owners, rescued 2 people, and attempted to put fire out.

"7 mins for fire, then RNLI, then ambulance then police. Fire extended to fisheries boat Lady Megan."

North Wales Police said: "Please be aware of an ongoing incident in the Marina.

"Police, Fire Service, Ambulance Service and Coastguard are all aware and in attendance.

"Please avoid the area so that the emergency services can carry out their work."
