Coronation bank holiday UK weather: Met Office reveals weekend forecast with Brits to enjoy 20C sunshine | The Sun

THE Met Office has revealed its forecast for the coronation bank holiday weekend – with Brits set to enjoy 20C sunshine.

Forecasters said that Saturday, when crowds will gather to celebrate King Charles and Queen Camilla's coronation, is set to be showery with sunny spells and temperatures in the high teens.

The week leading up to the coronation will be more unsettled, with wet and windy weather across most of the UK.

As celebrations continue throughout the Bank Holiday, thundery showers will return to many parts of England and Wales.

Met Office forecaster Steven Keates said: "On Saturday we will see showers developing from late morning in some central, eastern and northern areas, but also with some sunny spells through the day.

"At this stage it looks like London could avoid the showers in the morning before some develop through the afternoon.

The Met Office added that the days leading up to the coronation will see a mix of warm and wet weather in much of the UK.

The west of Scotland will see some showery rain, brightening up later on.

Thursday will be more unsettled, with low pressure dragging cloud, wind and rain across the UK and a high of 16C.

Friday could see some sun, reaching highs of 19C in the south of England.

But there will also be slow and heavy showers affecting all parts of the UK, with persistent rain along the northeast coast of England.

Met Office forecasters added that the gloomy weather will return after the coronation, although temperatures could hit 20C again on Sunday.

Sunday will see heavy, possibly thundery showers in many parts of England and Wales – with the driest and brightest weather reserved for northern Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The outlook for Bank Holiday Monday remains uncertain, but is likely to be unsettled before the new week brings more pleasant weather.
