Daily Mail reporters come under fire from Russian artillery in Ukraine: See the gripping exclusive video report on YouTube on Friday

This the moment the Daily Mail’s Richard Pendlebury and Jamie Wiseman came under fire from Russian artillery in Ukraine after gaining extraordinary access to the front line.

Their full dramatic video dispatch from the Donbas region will appear on the Daily Mail’s YouTube channel on Friday at 2pm, and will be accompanied by Richard’s gripping account of their experience in Saturday’s paper, on MailOnline and Mail+ .

The pair had to evade a Russian drone as they were given special access to a Ukrainian position to witness first-hand the reality of the trench fighting that now defines Europe’s biggest war since 1945.

And they witnessed a firefight between Ukrainian troops and Russians who were just 400 metres away across no man’s land.

Their dramatic video report will show how their journey back out of the trench almost went disastrously wrong – as a full-scale battle raged around them while they made their way through a treeline.
