'Dumpster king' shows off huge hauls including £259 Nintendo Switch

SWAG of the dump! ‘Dumpster king’ shows off impressive haul from bins of big brand shops – from £259 Nintendo Switch to £150 Harrod’s candle

  •  A bin diver has shared footage of him nabbing Nike trainers and Smyths toys
  • The rummager has defended his actions and said that he is not breaking the law

A man behind a popular YouTube account who claims to be a ‘dumpster King’ has unapologetically defended his actions on videos documenting his impressive hauls from shops including Nike, Poundland and Smyths.

The anonymous rummager has forged a loyal following on his account ‘UK Dumpster Kings’ and regularly uploads long form videos of him combing through refuse with his bare hands.

In a short period of time, the man has grown a huge subscriber base and now uploads videos of him rescuing toy Nerf guns and Nintendo Switch consoles to an audience of 27,000 people.

It’s dirty work but it seems like it can be quite lucrative judging by some of his hauls.

In the past he has documented rescuing items including Nike trainers, birthday cards and -on one memorable Harrods raid -a candle worth £150.

A man who calls himself the ‘Dumpster King’ has posted a series of videos oh his hauls from bin dives

The anonymous man has found a host of valuable items on his travels including this £259 Nintendo Switch

He has frequently found items that are basically in full store condition in the bins

Seemingly aware that bin diving isn’t the most prestigious pastime, the man prefaces every video he makes with a statement decrying the scorn the public may be inclined to heap on his community.

It reads: ‘Dumpster diving is seen by many people in the UK [as] theft and stealing.

Stealing is the act of permanently depriving another of something without there permission to do so. Unfortunately for them this is not the case when it comes to waste.

‘Has the dumpster diver permanently deprived them of anything? Did the retailer suffer any financial loss or injury?

‘Did the retailer do the correct thing throwing the items in a bin destined for landfill?

‘No trespass in the UK is a civil matter not a crime. It is only a crime if you are residing on the land without permission and you are obstructing the business in its daily duties.’

The man frequently defends his actions arguing that it is better for the products to find homes

He says the majority of his products are completely fine and able to be used

On one memorable occasion, the bin diver stumbled across a series of candles he claimed were from Harrods

A quick bit of research showed that they can retail for as much as £150

It is technically legal to go through a bin in the UK however to do so on private property can put you at risk of being arrested for trespassing.

The man’s hauls have earned him numerous plaudits from his envious fans who frequently tell him they wish they were as lucky as him.

One commented below a video: ‘Some great finds again. Nice to see you’re succeeding. Well deserved!’

Another said: ‘I’ve never found much at a card factory to be honest. Nice video.’

Another screamed: ‘Wowzer what a brilliant score they are brilliant! Well done matey just brilliant.’
