Eco yob tackled by Jonny Bairstow at Ashes is son of millionaire whose firm invests in climate change 'opportunities' | The Sun

THE eco-yob carried off the Ashes pitch is the son of a millionaire private equity chief with a £6million mansion whose firm invests in climate change "opportunities".

Daniel Knorr, 21, was hauled off by England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow after he and two other Just Stop Oil protesters stormed the Lord’s field.

Bairstow grabbed him after he halted play by chucking orange powder on the field on Wednesday.

The Sun can today reveal Knorr’s dad Robert, 54, is managing partner of mega private equity company MidEuropa, which has assets worth £4.5bn.

He and his high-flying NHS doctor wife, who share two other kids, own a £6million gated six-bed mansion in leafy Hampstead, North West London, where celebs like comedian Ricky Gervais live.

A hybrid 19-plate BMW was parked on the driveway of the swanky Spanish villa-style today.

MidEuropa is part of the Initiative Climat International, about which it says on its website: "The iCI is a collective commitment from private equity investors to manage the risks and opportunities associated with climate change by integrating the materiality of climate risk into the investment process and supporting portfolio companies to reduce their carbon emissions."

In his London-based role, Robert is "responsible for the execution of the firm’s strategy and the day-to-day management of the firm".

Robert previously worked for Deutsche Bank in Milan and has a Master’s in finance from London Business School.

Knorr’s mum is Dr Giuseppina Rotiroti, 55, an NHS consultant in allergy medicine at the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals in London.

She is clinical lead for paediatric allergy and medical rhinology.

The University College London Hospitals trust website states: "She is one of the few specialists in the UK to have a CCT [certificate of completion of training] in allergy with training obtained at the Royal Brompton, St Thomas’s, St Mary’s and Royal Free Hospital London, with particular focus on paediatric allergy and rhinology."

Dr Rotiroti studied at the University of Rome and and did an MSc in clinical immunology at King’s College London.

She also lectures “at both a national and international level”.

When The Sun asked Dr Rotiroti about Knorr’s arrest at her mansion last night, she said over the intercom: "I’ve got nothing to say."

Oxford University student Knorr was detained by police after chucking orange powder on to the Lord’s field.

He has now been charged with aggravated trespass.

The student was also arrested in April after clashing with security guards when jumping the barrier of a Dippy the Diplodocus dinosaur display at Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry, West Mids.
