Fighter jet crashes into apartment block in Russia sparking huge inferno as pilot ejects | The Sun

A FIGHTER pilot has been pictured ejecting from his plane just before it slammed into a block of flats.

Footage shows a huge fireball coming from the apartment block in the Russian city of Yeysk.


It’s currently unclear if there are any deaths from the horror crash.

The crash appears to have happened around dusk in the city and flames lit up the night sky.

Yeysk is located on the Sea of Azov which separates southern Ukraine and southern Russia.

The Russian defence ministry confirmed the aircraft was an SU-34 fighter.

The aircraft crashed while climbing for a training flight from the military airfield of the Southern Military District in Yeysk, said the ministry.

The official TASS news agency said the crash was caused by an engine fire

The SU-34 is a twin-seat, all-weather supersonic medium-range fighter bomber.

The plane designed primarily for hitting ground and naval targets.
