Halloween havoc! Revellers show off their VERY spooky fancy dress as they celebrate the most ghoulish weekend of the year

  • Partygoers hit the town for the beginning of the Halloween celebrations across the country on Friday night
  • Some of the most spooky and spectacular outfits were on show in Newcastle, Birmingham, and Bristol
  • The streets are set to be packed once again as the clocks go back tonight before Halloween on Monday  

Revellers took to the streets in all manner of fancy dress last night as the Halloween weekend got underway across the UK.

Partygoers in Leeds took to the streets in a huge range of spooky outfits on Friday, from cowboys and aliens to giant chickens and angels.

Newcastle was also packed with people in weird and wonderful dress as people braved the cold to kick off the weekend ahead of Halloween on Monday.

A packed Birmingham saw the streets full of creative and ghoulish outfits on Friday night as thousands descended on the streets dressed as zombies, witches – and even traffic cones and pumpkins. 

Police were out in force to keep the peace across the country in anticipation of the Hallows Eve revellers having one drink too many on their first night out of the weekend.

Most cities up and down the country remained calm, although scenes became increasingly more chaotic as the night wore on in a number of places as revellers joined in the fun.
