Horrified Israeli rescue workers have been sifting through ash and rubble and finding bone fragments at a nursery that was attacked by Hamas on October 7, according to on-the-ground reports from the south of the country.
Yesterday, harrowing images from the site showed pools of blood and teddy bears riddled with bullet holes after scores of innocents were killed in the Be’eri massacre.
The kindergarten was meant to be a safe refuge for children under the age of five, but it would become the scene for one of the most barbaric and vile acts of the Palestinian terrorist group as it rampaged through southern Israel 13 days ago.
In total, at least 1,400 people were killed in the Hamas attack, with work to identify victims still on-going. The number could still rise further.
In pictures released by the South First Responders telegram channel last night – rescue workers wearing forensic and protective clothing can be seen scouring through the rubble of the nursery which was attacked and scorched.

One man is seen holding up a small pile of dirt in his blue-gloved hand. Small white fragments are seen amongst the debris being held up to the camera.
‘Here we can see the remains of bone fragments being extracted from the massacre site,’ the channel says. Other pictures show the man – whose identity has been concealed – working with another on his hands and knees as they search.
The South First Responders group was set up on the messaging app to share footage from the region in the immediate aftermath of the attack.
It has since shared footage and pictures of rescue workers efforts to locate the remains of people who are still missing in the wake of the attack.
Other harrowing images from the nursery show blood smeared across the floor amid the barbaric destruction left by the Hamas terrorists.
AK47 magazines left by the gunmen are shown strewn among children’s toys.
Bullet holes riddle the window and doors and drag marks in the blood suggest a desperate attempt to pull a dead or wounded victim to safety.
Outside, bicycles are seen scattered across the ground next to a wall peppered with holes that appear to have been left by either bullets or shrapnel: the terrorists are understood to have thrown grenades into some civilian buildings.
Many of the walls are also blackened from fire damage, with the South First Responders writing that parts of the nursery were torched.

Not even the classroom escaped the violence, with parts of the ceiling seen hanging off after the attack
‘Sadly we have been witness in past days to arguements and claims that children were not targeted for slaughter in the Hamas assault on southern Israel,’ the group wrote in a message alongside pictures from the nursery.

‘We are now publishing new images from Kibbutz Be’eri obtained from our network that of human remains were found and recovered from the children’s home.
‘The remains of the building can be seen here, including indications that it was targeted by heavy gunfire and the subsequent torching,’ it adds.
The sickening scenes were found in the kibbutz that sits three miles from the Israel-Gaza border fence. More than 100 people were killed by Hamas.
The terrorists stormed across the border on October 7 and attacked several kibbutzim in the region, bringing violence and malice to a colourful nursery and a peaceful community.
It is impossible to know what happened here on a Jewish sabbath when the nursery would have been closed, but families were free to use the play equipment any time.
Nowhere was safe from the terrorists. The library next door which had its windows decorated with cuddly blue Smurf characters was also shot to bits.
An Israeli soldier told the Sun: ‘This place has many terrible secrets – and we’re sadly finding more and more every day.
‘Many children died here – some horribly mutilated.’

One harrowing clip showed gunmen brandishing automatic rifles and preparing to unleash hell on unsuspecting families.
In the next scene, security cameras from within the usually quiet kibbutz showed the terrorists lying in wait, ready to ambush. The moment comes when a resident rolls up to the security gate in a car and opens it. The gunmen quickly shoot him dead.
Moving quickly, the black-clad gunmen, ran across the kibbutz while shouting ‘where are the children’ before going door to door looking for Israeli families to slaughter indiscriminately or drag to Gaza as hostages.
Footage showed the terrorists murdering families in their homes or as they tried to flee in their cars. Further horrific video showed gunmen in the process of beheading a body with a hoe and burnt corpses thrown in a dumpster.
One appalling image showed the charred body of a baby, whose body is so disfigured it is impossible to make out where their arms and legs would have been.

As soldiers walked through a family home in Kfar Aza kibbutz where they found the parents’ bed and child’s bed soaked in blood as the once-loving abode was left in devastation
The video showed the bodies of civilians who had been bound. A room with at least seven bodies reduced to ash. Civilians shot in bedrooms, bathrooms, front yards. Blood so thick it nearly obscured hallway floors.

It also showed the ease with which Hamas militants moved around inside Israel, for hours unopposed by any significant Israeli response.
In Kibbutz Be’eri, people slept as the militants peered into people’s dark living rooms. They toyed with outdoor decorations, using a cigarette lighter to set a dreamcatcher hanging on someone’s window ablaze.
They shot randomly, at an air conditioner, at an ambulance’s tires, at a dog running out to greet them. They perched on lawn chairs outside a quiet home, taking a water break. Israeli security forces were nowhere to be found.
Israel’s rescue service later found more than 120 bodies there.
The town was the home of British-born Lianne Sharabi, who had made a life there with her daughters Yahel and Noiya, and her husband Eli.
But she, along her 13-year-old daughter Yahel, was brutally murdered by the terrorists as they swept into the kibbutz.
And in a fate some believe is almost as hideous as death itself, the father, Eli, and 16-year-old daughter Noiya are feared to have been abducted by sadistic thugs and taken back to Gaza.
Disturbing photos of the Sharabi family home show it covered in blood, with furniture smashed up and their pet dog killed and left to rot in the living room.

Amid the confusion of the massacre in Be’eri, the family at first feared she had been kidnapped along with her sister.
It is unclear where her body was found, but on Wednesday the family were told the numbing news that the teenager is dead.
As the search for more victims of the attack on the nursery and the surrounding region continued on Thursday, Israel pounded Gaza with more air strikes.
The brutal rampage through kibbutzim and other settlements in southern Israel sparked a retaliatory response from the country’s military, which has relentlessly bombed the Gaza enclave leading to thousands of Palestinian deaths.
In the nearly two weeks since the Hamas attack, airstrikes have relentlessly hit the densely populated territory.
Even after Israel told Palestinians to evacuate the north and head to what it called ‘safe zones’ in the south, strikes continued across the entire territory.
Israel is also preparing for a ground assault into Gaza, where the humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating.

Meanwhile on Thursday, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak followed US President Joe Biden on visits to demonstrate support for war against Hamas while urging Israel to ease the plight of besieged Gazans.
Biden, who spent less than eight hours in Israel, flew home on Wednesday night having pledged support, and hugged and consoled survivors of the October 7 raid.
But he appeared to have only limited success in his other mission, to persuade Israel to ease the plight of 2.3 million Gazans under a total siege.
Biden said he had secured an offer from Egypt to allow 20 aid trucks to reach Gaza at some point in coming days, a fraction of the 100 per day that UN aid chief Martin Griffiths told the Security Council were needed.
