How being the world's most famous man saved Trump's mugshot blushes

‘He’s the most recognized face in the world… there’s no need for theatrics!’ Trump’s lawyer claims he should NOT have to take a mugshot because they are only to help recognize unknown criminals

  • Former president, 76, won’t have mugshot taken like most criminal suspects because he’s so recognizable, it is claimed
  • He also won’t be handcuffed as prosecutors determined he’s not a flight risk or safety threat
  • Trump will appear in court on Tuesday afternoon charged over hush payments to porn star Stormy Daniels

Donald Trump should be spared having his mugshot taken when he’s booked in on Tuesday because he has the ‘most recognized face in the world’, one of his lawyers has said.

Alina Habba, a lawyer for Trump who isn’t involved in the Tuesday case, said: ‘I don’t see a purpose in it. Mugshots are for people so that you recognize who they are. He is the most recognized face in the world, let a lone the country, right now, so there’s no need for that, there’s no need for the theatrics.’

Trump is expected to appear in court at 2.15pm. He’ll first be booked and processed by the DA’s office.

It has also been claimed the former president, 76, won’t be handcuffed when he’s processed and led into court after officials in the district attorney’s office decided against the steps.

Sources claim District Attorney Alvin Bragg opted against the measures because Trump isn’t a flight risk and doesn’t pose a safety threat. Bragg will also be aware that subjecting Trump to the humiliating steps could stir up drama outside court.

Online pranksters mocked up a picture of how Trump’s mugshot could look – but the former president will probably be spared the experience

Friends also claim Trump has said any mugshot would become ‘the most famous one in the history of the world’ and he could use it to raise millions for his presidential campaign.

Toni Holt Kramer, a friend of Trump’s for more than a decade and head of the Trumpettes support group, told the Mail on Sunday: ‘President Trump and his supporters know the mugshot sums up the witch-hunt against Mr Trump and is emblematic of everything that is wrong with the banana republic that [President] Biden’s America has become.’

She continued: ‘President Trump knows his mugshot will become the most famous mugshot ever in the history of the world.

‘It’s something that will become symbolic of the Left’s attack on Trump and any attempt to use it to humiliate him will backfire spectacularly.

‘Everyone is going to want it. Even his detractors.’

There were ugly scenes outside court ahead of Trump’s appearance on Tuesday morning when some of his fervent fans clashed with aggrieved protesters.

Trump fan Juliet Germanotta threw herself at an anti-Trump banner and attempted to rip it up. She was met with incredulity from the protesters who’d erected it and a scrappy back-and-forth ensued.

‘You’re on the wrong side!’ yelled the anti-Trump crowd, grabbing at the flag that the woman was trying to remove in a clumsy tug of war.

A second Trump fan was heard yelling: ‘Get out of here you old bag of bones!’

Pushing herself into her counterpart’s face, the Trump fan then threatened quietly: ‘I have COVID!’

Elsewhere, a man carrying a sound boom and backpack angrily threatened others not to ‘f**k with him’.  It’s unclear if he worked for a media outlet.

Germanotta got back on her feet and began arguing with one of his critics after trying to tear down an anti-Trump sign outside the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse

Germanotta had been trying to tear down a sign that reads ‘Trump Lies All The Time’. She had crossed over from her ‘side’, then told the other women: ‘I have COVID!’ while yelling in their faces

Germanotta is shown arriving earlier in the day. She told the other protester: ‘I have COVID’ as she yelled in her face

Even those who had come to the historic event to film it clashed outside. A man who appeared to be part of a sound crew (left) was filmed grabbing another man by the neck and yelling him

Disgraced Congressman George Santos made a surprise appearance and was warmly greeted by Germanotta, a well-known Republican protester.

The crowds of fans were nowhere near the size of those who gathered in Washington DC on January 6, 2021.

Instead, a handful of smaller groups and individuals turned out to show their support.

Among them was Ricardo ‘Ricky Superstar’ Varano, a 62-year-old, 7/11 cashier from the Bronx.

He told DailyMail.com: ‘If he goes down I’ll go down. I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do. I’m here to make people feel this is real, I’m with Donald Trump all the way. This indictment is phony. It’s a hoax.
