I am 27-years-old – but no one will give me a job because I look like a 12-year-old | The Sun

A 27-YEAR-old man claims his youthful appearance is holding him back as potential employers refuse to believe he is any older than 12.

Mao Sheng, from Dongguan, China, has found his desperate efforts to land a job to support his unwell father draw a blank as his child-like look raises eyebrows.

Fed-up Mao said many employers have accused him of lying about his age because of his small structure and baby face.

And he said others shy away from giving him a chance as they fear authorities may start asking questions if they believe child labour laws are being broken.

But his plight has now gone viral after he shared a clip online airing his frustrations.

Mao told how he was frantic to land a job to financially support his father, who is recovering from a stroke.

He and a pal had taken to the streets in search of work at factories in the city.

But while his friend quickly secured employment, Mao was left disappointed and still out of work.

After a fruitless search, Mao was left feeling defeated – until his video brought him some luck.

It's understood Mao has since been offered jobs from employers who heard about his situation and sympathised.

Another video posted on social media in China revealed Mao has accepted one of the roles, according to Oddity Central.

It comes after a woman told how she found it impossible to secure a job – but for a very different reason.

Ashleigh Keenan applied for around 60 jobs and didn't hear back from any of them was left mortified after discovering what she'd sent with her applications instead of her CV.

She admitted she was more than a little embarrassed after finding out she'd sent them data from her period tracker rather than a rundown of her qualifications.
