Joanna Simpson’s family have a 'glimmer of hope' ahead of meeting with Dominic Raab | The Sun

THE family of hammer murder victim Joanna Simpson say they have a “glimmer of hope” after the Justice Secretary agreed to meet them.

Joanna’s mum Diana Parkes feels confident she will be able to convince Dominic Raab to block killer Robert Brown’s early jail release.

Diana, 83, told The Sun: “I think it’s absolutely incredible, what a difference a week makes.

“It feels like we have a glimmer of hope now.”

Brown, 59, could walk free this year after just 13 years of his 26-year term for battering estranged wife Joanna, 46, to death with a claw hammer in 2010 in Ascot, Berks.

At the weekend Mr Raab said: “I will look at this as I would any other case, very rigorously.”
