Joe and Jill go on a date night to watch Oppenheimer as Trump indicted

Date night! Joe and Jill watch Oppenheimer and take a romantic walk on the beach under the super moon during their Rehoboth Beach vacation – as Trump’s third indictment rocks D.C.

  • Joe and Jill Biden enjoyed a date night during their week-long Rehoboth Beach vacation on Tuesday
  • They dined at Matt’s Fish Camp and saw Oppenheimer at the local theater
  • On same night, Donald Trump was indicted for the third time

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden enjoyed date night in Rehoboth Beach on Tuesday evening as Donald Trump faced his third indictment and hours after their son’s business partner testified before Congress about Hunter’s business dealings.

‘It was compelling,’ Biden told the press after he finished watching the three-hour film.

The Bidens, who are on a week-long trip to their $2 million beach home, took in a seafood meal at Matt’s Fish Camp before heading to the local theater to see Oppenheimer, the film about the man who developed the atomic bomb.

While they enjoyed a night out, a bomb was dropping on Donald Trump, who was indicted for the third time.

Trump is facing four counts including conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government and obstruct the electoral count for trying to overturn the 2020 election. The 45-page indictment says he was ‘determined to remain in power’ despite ‘having lost’ the presidency to Biden.

The former president, who is facing a maximum of 55 years in prison, has been summoned to appear before U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan – an Obama appointee – on Thursday in Washington, D.C. There are also six unnamed alleged co-conspirators according to the indictment.

Trump and his co-conspirators ‘used knowingly false claims of election fraud’ to try to ‘subvert the legitimate election results and change electoral votes’ to take down Joe Biden, according to the indictment.

Trump is already facing 40 federal charges in Florida relating to his handling of sensitive government documents after leaving office, and is due to stand trial in New York next year accused of falsifying business documents after making a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.

The White House has not commented on any of the previous indictments, noting they don’t comment on on-going legal matters.

Biden, in a recent interview with Jay Shetty’s ‘On Purpose’ podcast, revealed that he hadn’t yet seen Oppenheimer, which is garnering Oscar buzz, but wanted to.

The Bidens, during their Rehoboth getaway, are enjoying bike rides and time on the beach.

While they’ve been enjoying the sunny skies and fresh air, Hunter’s Biden’s former friend and business partner Devon Archer was on Capitol Hill to testify to the House Oversight Committee about Hunter’s foreign business deals.

Archer was subpoenaed by the House of Representatives Oversight Committee. House Republicans argue that Hunter Biden used his father’s status as vice president to help his business interests. They hope Archer can provide evidence that the president was directly involved in his son’s alleged dealings.

President Biden had denied any involvement in Hunter’s business affairs.

Archer told Congress in bombshell testimony Monday the ‘Biden brand’ helped keep Ukrainian firm Burisma from going bankrupt. He also revealed Joe was on the phone or present in-person at least 20 times while his son who called him ‘my guy’ was talking with foreign business partners.

Following Archer’s testimony, Republicans are now saying they may have enough evidence to begin an impeachment inquiry into the president for lying about his involvement in Hunter’s businesses.

However, the White House has maintained that Joe ‘has never been in business’ with his son and Democrats are working to back up their claims.

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Ranking Member Jim Himes, D-Conn., fired back at Republicans Tuesday, saying that they have not presented any evidence that President Biden engaged in corruption – despite Archer’s testimony.

‘Have [Republicans] pointed to anything to suggest that Joe Biden engaged in corrupt behavior? No,’ said Himes on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Tuesday.

‘On the contrary, Hunter Biden’s business partner said, yea, he was on some phone calls talking about the weather, exchanging pleasantries,’ continued Himes.

‘It is sure and absolutely not a crime. They’re just in this box of their own making.’

‘On the topic of a Biden impeachment: If impeachable crimes are surfaced – and I say this as a Democrat – fine. [Republicans] have found no evidence whatsoever that there are impeachable crimes,’ continued Himes.

Republicans claim Archer’s testimony added to mounting evidence that the then-Vice President was involved in Hunter’s overseas deals that raked in millions from nations including China and Romania.

However, Democrats say that the phone calls were innocent and did not involve business, insisting they were talking about ‘niceties’ like talking about ‘the weather,’ and ‘what’s going on?”

White House spokesperson Ian Sams also hit back at Republican claims of corruption following Archer’s testimony, saying that Republicans have not yet produced any solid evidence implicating Joe.

‘They keep promising bombshell evidence but over and over, they can’t produce any,’ he wrote on Twitter.

‘Yet the goose chase rolls on, at the expense of focusing on Americans’ real priorities.’
