A major fashion retailer has announced it will close 43 stores later in April after entering administration.

M&CO will shut all 170 of its stores after entering administration last year, with the stores put up for auction by administrators Teneo.

In a separate sale, M&Co’s brand and intellectual property was sold to Yours Clothing, but the high-street stores are still expected to close.

51 M&CO branches have already closed their doors in what has been a tumultuous year for the fashion brand.

Teneo did not disclose an exact date when it expects the brand to completely terminate high street business.

The retailer has been running a closing sale, with products hugely discounted in order to ensure any remaining stock is sold.

A notice on the M&CO website, which is currently not in operation, reads: ‘M&Co online is no longer trading. AK Retail has acquired the M&Co brand, with plans to relaunch the web platform in the coming months.

‘Some of our stores will remain open to shop for a limited time, with EVERYTHING AT LEAST 50% OFF. To check if your nearest store is still open visit M&Co Store Locator.

‘If you have recently ordered from mandco.com, you can still track your order via the link in your despatch email. Our Customer Care team are still available if you have questions about orders, returns or refunds: https://support.mandco.com

‘Thank you to all our customers from the whole team at M&Co.’
