The incident happened Sunday at the home of an unidentified former Marine for Korea in Fullerton, California, and the man’s Tesla’s backup camera caught part of the shocking attack.

The man and his wife had just returned home from church and a visit to home depot, when two men who had been following them came into their garage and pepper sprayed the homeowner.

‘They peppered sprayed him all over. Thank God he had glasses,’ the unnamed victim’s son told ABC 7 in an interview. ‘I think it gave him a little bit of the ability to fight back.’

‘He fought back hard and I think they were caught off guard because someone that old would fight back,’ he continued.

The Korean Marine veteran fought back and chased the bold thieves down the driveway and away from his home

According to the man’s son, who asked to remain anonymous, his parents had just returned home from church and Home Depot when the encounter happened.

The couple had allegedly been followed by the three attackers before they confronted the man at his home in the 1000 block of West Las Palmas Avenue.

Once the veteran was inside the garage, two of the three attackers approached him and tried to tell him that someone had damaged his vehicle.

‘My dad was kind of confused because they came around him real quick,’ his son said while speaking from the Orange County residence.

‘They approached my dad and said, “Hey, someone hit your car. There’s car damage,”‘ he continued. ‘You can hear it on the recording.’

Security camera from inside the garage showed the two men walking up to the man and whipping out pepper spray that they quickly deployed on him.

The elderly veteran immediately fought back and began to scream out and yell, which caught the attention of two landscapers in the front yard.

The two men who attacked apparently did not see the landscapers, who rushed to help and even chased after the suspects.

‘Those guys are heroes. My dad was screaming, fighting back,’ the son said.

‘And they came running around and helped chase the guys. They didn’t realize there were more guys here. And they just boned out,’ he shared.

The shocking video was shared online by ABC 7 and quickly amassed nearly 800,000 views on YouTube within 12 hours of it being posted.

Thousands of commenters weighed in on the situation, applauding the military veteran for defending himself while sharing their frustration over the thieves’ entitlement.

‘What a sad society we live in. You can tell the victim is an elderly man. They are preying on the most vulnerable. Thank God for him having sunglasses on and the landscaper crew,’ one commenter wrote.

‘I LOVED seeing the people running to help. The more we look out for each other, the sooner this kind of things stop,’ one person shared.

‘The more people defend themselves and their property, the less this will happen. Funny to see them run,’ another added.

‘If you wonder why these criminals are so brazen, look directly at the prosecutors and judges that continue to let them loose. They are emboldened,’ wrote another.

DailyMail.com spoke with officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department who said they are actively investigating the incident.

According to ABC 7, law enforcement believe Sunday’s incident may be connected to another recent robbery that occurred in Rowland Heights.

Sheriff’s officials confirmed the two incidents are being looked into but could not share additional details at this time.

The Major Crimes Bureau is assisting in the investigation.
