Mary Anderson 'didn't talk about relationship with ex Matthew Davis' who was 'killed by cops' after her body was found | The Sun

MARY Anderson kept quiet about her relationship with an ex-boyfriend, who was hunted by cops after her body was found in a truck, a close friend has revealed.

Abbagail Pettinato exclusively spoke to The Sun shortly before Matthew Davis, 34, was killed during a confrontation with Vermont police after being named a "person of interest" in Mary's death.

"Mary didn’t talk about her relationship a ton, at least not to me," shared Pettinato, before Massachusetts State Police confirmed Davis' death.

"I think pieces are still being put together regarding her disappearance and death," she told The Sun.

"I don’t know and never did know her ex [Davis] that well; I think I only briefly met him once or twice."

Mary's body was found at 12.55am on Tuesday, in a truck that had license plates matching the ones on the vehicle she was last said to be driving.

Missing woman’s ex-boyfriend ‘shot dead by cops’ after her body found in truck

Who was Mary Anderson and when did she go missing?

Her family reported her missing on Sunday evening when she didn't return home from seeing her friends. The last sighting of her alive was in New Hampshire on Saturday night, driving a navy blue vehicle.

Grief-stricken Pettinato recalled her school days with Mary, who was in the grade above her.

"My family is close with hers," she told The Sun. " We were both members of the basketball team and band and had numerous classes together.

"Mary was a very kind soul. She was very mellow and calm and very passionate about the things she loved. She was hard working too.
We are all sad and absolutely devastated.

"This is such a scary thing, especially with all the cases like this that happen more often then we’d like to, but it’s even scarier when it happens to someone you know and care about.

"Myself and others who went to school with Mary and knew her well are all devastated.

"We cannot even imagine what the family is going through and they are in our constant thoughts and prayers right now.

"Mary will be missed so much by myself and others. She was and will always be such an amazing friend."

Friends and family began to worry that Mary was with an ex-boyfriend when strange social media posts on fake Snapchat and Instagram accounts under Mary's name appeared.

Cops did not name any suspects in Mary's case, but sought out her ex Davis, who was named as a "person of interest" before his death.

Officials eventually located him and tried to speak to him but at some point, he was shot and killed, Vermont State police said, without naming Davis.

'ANGER ISSUES'

Mary's mother has described Davis as "having anger issues," CBS News reported.

The mom said the most heart-wrenching aspect of the horror situation is the fact that Mary could have spent her final days alone.

"She wasn't with her mom and her siblings," Sheila Anderson said.

"I think that's the devastating part of knowing what she was going through the last four days.

Pettinato told us that the surviving family is in her thoughts and prayers as more information surrounding her death comes to light.

"I think pieces are still being put together regarding her disappearance and death," she said.
