Off-duty firefighter dies in Brooklyn road-rage attack

An off-duty firefighter was killed in a road-rage attack after he got into a car crash on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn early Sunday, police sources said.

The FDNY’s Faizal Coto, 33, first got into a fender-bender with another driver on the parkway near Bay 8th Street in Bath Beach around 4:45 a.m., authorities said.

Then when he got out of his car to talk to the other driver, the men started arguing, and the fireman was struck on the head with an object, according to sources.

Police and medics responded and found Coto lying outside of his car with severe head trauma, authorities said.

His 2008 blue Mustang was found at the scene with damage to the side of it, cops said.

He was rushed to Coney Island Hospital and declared dead.

Faizal’s friends began posting tributes to him on his Facebook page.

“Omg I can’t believe what I’m hearing this word is so unpredictable. Such a young precious life gone to soon,” Judy Auguste wrote on his page Sunday morning. “May you rest in peace.”

“I am in SHOCK, my dear friend. I will FOREVER MISS YOU,” another friend posted on his page. “Although Heaven gained an ANGEL, I cannot believe you’re gone too soon.”

The Fire Department said Coto had been with the department three years.

His attacker is in the wind, cops said.
