A parking space in Knightsbridge has come onto the market for £50,000, boasting of extra features which include ‘access to water’.

Those desperate for a guaranteed parking space in London could be in luck, as the ‘bargain’ single space can fit a variety of vehicles in one of the city’s most expensive areas.

The garage is a short walk to Harrods for a leisurely shopping trip and has the Royal Albert Hall placed nearby, for a night of culture and exquisite relaxation, free from worry about topping up the parking meter.

The single parking space located at 48-65 Rutland Gate, in Knightsbridge, London, is described as having a ‘good height’ and measures 6.5ft wide by 18ft long.

This leasehold allocated parking space, that fits one car within a small garage, is sandwiched between Rutland Gate and Ennismore Mews.

It can be bought on a circa 960 year lease, so you wouldn’t need to worry about moving your car for a while.

The listing reads: ‘With two automated gates operated by fobs, and CCTV the garage is considered to be very secure’, said the listing.

The parking space was listed for £85,000 last year, meaning it’s been massively discounted.

The lot, which is more expensive than many four-bed detached houses up north, is also located near to Harrods, but in a different parking lot.

However this space boasts an area of 3.18 by 6.30 metres, or 10 ft 4 inches by 20 ft by 6 inches – equivalent to more than £1,500 per square foot.

In 2019 a run-down garage in Kensington was bought for £350,000 is now worth a whopping £1.2 million after being converted into one of the country’s most eco-friendly homes.

While London is not the only place affected by expensive parking spaces, in South Devon a single space went on sale with a price tag of £100,000.
