Pence: Trump's is a distraction, he should 'never' be President again

Mike Pence says Trump should NEVER be President and claims his candidacy is a distraction from Hunter ‘corruption’

  • Pence called Trump’s candidacy a ‘distraction’ from Biden’s ‘disastrous policies’
  • Comes after the latest indictment against Trump, which includes four counts regarding his efforts to obstruct Congress’ Electoral College vote count
  • ‘Our country is more important than one man,’ Pence asserted

Donald Trump’s many legal woes are just a distraction from the actual issues plaguing the country, Mike Pence claimed in a scathing statement following the most recent indictment against the former president.

The 2024 hopeful said ‘our country is more important than one man’ in one of Pence’s most harsh denunciations of his former boss where he claimed Trump should ‘never’ again be president.

Special Counsel Jack Smith announced on Tuesday the four latest criminal charges, including conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government and obstruct the electoral count. Trump faces a maximum of 55 years in prison on the latest indictment.

Trump now must appear before U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, an Obama appointee, on Thursday in Washington, D.C. According to the 45-page indictment, there are six unnamed alleged co-conspirators.

‘Today’s indictment serves as an important reminder: anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be President of the United States,’ Pence tweeted on Tuesday evening.

Former Vice President Mike Pence sent a scathing five-part tweet Tuesday calling Donald Trump’s candidacy a ‘distraction’ and claiming he should ‘never’ be President again

Pence says Americans should be focusing on ‘Biden’s disastrous economic policies’ and ‘corruption with Hunter’

He insists that the investigative saga against Trump is a distraction from issues that American voters actually care about – and Pence feels the ex-president’s legal issues should not be muddying the waters of the presidential election.

‘As Americans, his candidacy means less attention paid to Joe Biden’s disastrous economic policies afflicting millions across the United States and to the pattern of corruption with Hunter,’ Pence wrote in his five-party tweet.

The charges against the former president, related to the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot and gis efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, hit home for Pence, who became a target of Trump’s most loyal supporters.

Trump maintains that Pence had the ability to stop Congress from certifying the election win for Joe Biden. Not only does Pence say he did not have that power, he also says that he would not choose Trump over the U.S. Constitution.

‘Our country is more important than one man. Our constitution is more important than any one man’s career,’ Pence tweeted.

He added: ‘On January 6th, Former President Trump demanded that I choose between him and the Constitution. I chose the Constitution and I always will.’

Pence is one of the 15 candidates vying for the GOP presidential nomination for 2024.

Pence maintains he did the right thing on January 6, 2021 by fulfilling his duties as VP to certify the 2020 election results

‘Our country is more important than one man,’ Pence asserted in his blistering Twitter thread

The former vice president, however, has still not met the donor criteria to participate in the first debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 23.

Special Counsel Smith accused Trump in the indictment Tuesday of spreading ‘lies’ and ‘sham’ investigations while stoking an ‘angry’ mob on January 6.

He claims that Trump was ‘determined to remain in power’ despite ‘having lost.’

In a televised public statement following the release of the indictment, Smith said that the attack on the Capitol was ‘fueled by lies’ made by Trump ‘targeted at obstructing the bedrock function of the U.S. government – the nation’s process of collecting, counting and certifying the results of the presidential election.’

He pledged that his office will conduct a ‘speedy’ trial.

Pence responded to the news with: ‘I will have more to say about the government’s case after reviewing the indictment. The former president is entitled to the presumption of innocence but with this indictment, his candidacy means more talk about January 6th and more distractions.’

Trump praised the pro-MAGA crowd Wednesday morning and thanked them for their ‘support.’

In all-caps, the former president and 2024 candidate posted to Truth Social: ‘This unprecedented indictment of a former(highly successful!) president, & the leading candidate, by far, in both the Republican Party and the 2024 general election, has awoken the world to the corruption, scandal, & failure that has taken place in the United States for the past three years.’

‘America is a nation in decline,’ he added, ‘but we will make it great again, greater than ever before. I love you all!!!’
