Prince Harry news — King's staff preparing for 'peace talks' with Duke but 'highly unlikely' for Meghan Markle to attend | The Sun

PRINCE HARRY and King Charles will hold "peace talks" in September, however, it is "highly unlikely" for Meghan Markle to attend.

Reports suggest that the two will meet upon the King's return to London from Balmoral and on Prince Harry's way back to California from Dusseldorf.

"King Charles is due to return to London from Balmoral in the middle of September which ties with the end of Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Dusseldorf.

"The King has a rescheduled official visit to France on September 20 so has a few days to spare in London to meet with his son. Staff are trying to fine-tune the details as we speak," sources told OK!

In the meeting, King Charles "will make it very clear that there will be absolutely no private family business discussed in public moving forward," as he was "mortally wounded" by what the Duke had to say about the Royal Family.

However, reports indicated that King Charles – who's Australia's head of state – is yet to visit the Down Under since becoming monarch and since the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II.

This means that the Prince of Wales can't constitutionally travel to Australia before him.

Why didn't Prince William attend the Women's World Cup final?

As Sarina Wiegman's Lionesses face Spain in the Women's World Cup final, Prince William announced that he won't be travelling to Sydney, Australia.

Reports suggest that the reason the Prince of Wales didn't catch the 9,400-mile flight is because he wants to keep his carbon footprint down.

Daily Express Royal Correspondent Richard Palmer has also said that the Royal Family felt "it's a long way to go for a couple of hours".

No members of the Royal Family attended the match neither did Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

King Charles appoints Sir Edward Young as one of his Permanent Lords in Waiting

In a fresh blow to Prince Harry, Sir Edward Young has been appointed as one of his permanent Lords in waiting.

Young will now be able to represent the King at events that the monarch is not able to attend in person, after previously working as a trusted private secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Prince Harry is believed to have nicknamed him "the Bee" in his memoir, The Spare.

Harry refers to three senior courtiers as “the Bee, the Wasp, and the Fly”.

According to The Times, the wasp and the fly refer to Simon Case, Prince William’s private secretary, and Sir Clive Alderton, Charles’s private secretary at the time.

In the memoir Prince Harry describes them as “three middle-aged white men who’d managed to consolidate power through a series of bold Machiavellian manoeuvres”.

Prince Harry and Meghan created an 'undeniable bond'

The Sussexes have recently been the centre of split rumours, however, a friend of the couple has now addressed the gossip and told Page Six it's "literally made up."

A relationship expert has now added how Harry and Meghan's "great chemistry" and "shared value system" created an "undeniable bond" which shows the "desire to be together."

Kate Mansfield said: "A bond like this requires great chemistry and compatibility but also a shared desire to be together and a value system that is heavily geared towards teamwork and mutual growth."

"For sure overcoming shared challenges can strengthen a bond, but can also break if it is not strong enough in the first place. They have worked hard to achieve this, and whatever else we think about them, we cannot deny that they seem to have their relationship pretty well figured out," she further told The Mirror.

Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer is in Sydney, Australia, to watch the Lionesses play Spain in the Women's World Cup final.

She was asked by Sky News about Prince William's decision to not attend the historic event.

Frazer responded: "Prince William has been a fan of sport and really supportive of football. He's the president of the FA. You'll have seen he's apologised for being unable to come but I know that he's backing the England team.

"I know he wants the Lionesses to come… and I'm sure he'll be celebrating with them whether they win or lose, you know, after the match today."

Princess Anne on how social media 'made it more difficult' for younger royals

The Princess Royal previously shared her views on modern technology and social media, saying that she wouldn't use it even if someone "paid" her.

In the 2020 documentary, Anne: The Princess Royal at 70, she explained how she believes that younger royals have it "worse" than she did back in the day.

Princess Anne explained: "The pressure that is applied to the younger members of the family, it's always worse. That's what the media is interested in. That's hard sometimes to deal with. But there was no social media in my day, and it's probably made it more difficult.

"With online technology… being in touch is one thing but it’s not quite the same. The ability to meet people, that’s what makes the difference. I know what Twitter is, but I wouldn’t go anywhere near it if you paid me frankly. But that’s a slightly different issue."

Which football teams do members of the Royal Family support?

It's no surprise that the Royal Family are fans of football too but which teams do they support?

Starting with King Charles, the monarch revealed in 2012 that he's a Burnley fan and was handed a VIP season ticket and was invited to watch his team from the Directors' Box.

Meanwhile, don't be surprised if you see Prince William up at Villa Park as he chose this team because he wanted a "mid-table" which would give him "emotional rollercoaster moments."

He added how "Aston Villa’s always had a great history."

Then there's Prince Harry, who even though is known to be more of a rugby guy, still has a hidden love for Arsenal.

When Bayern Munich beat the Gunners 5-1 in 2017, Harry was at an England rugby session where he was asked who he supports and revealing that his team is Arsenal, he told sports coach Jack Gair: "I know. Let's not talk about it."

Contrary to Harry, Kate Middleton supports rival club Chelsea – something which she revealed at the Anna Freud Centre Christmas Party where she bonded with youngster Rjay Bryan over their love for the blues.

Reports suggest that plans are being put in place for King Charles and Prince Harry to meet after the Invictus Games, as the Duke is set to fly back to California from Dusseldorf via London.

"King Charles is due to return to London from Balmoral in the middle of September which ties with the end of Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Dusseldorf," a source told OK!.

“The King has a rescheduled official visit to France on September 20 so has a few days to spare in London to meet with his son. Staff are trying to fine-tune the details as we speak," the source added.

The source told the publication how the King was left "mortally wounded" by what Prince Harry said about the Royal Family as they added that Charles "will always be there for him but draws the line at public slanging matches."

The source added: "If the talks take place, the King will make it very clear that there will be absolutely no private family business discussed in public moving forward."

They've also said that it's "highly unlikely" that Meghan Markle will be in attendance for the meeting.

Prince William and Charlotte wish the Lionesses good luck

The Prince of Wales and his daughter Charlotte have sent their best wishes to the Lionesses as they face Spain in their first-ever World Cup final.

In a clip posted on Instagram, Prince William said: "Lionesses we want to send you a huge good luck for tomorrow. We're sorry we can't be there in person but we're so proud of everything you've achieved and the millions you've inspired here and around the world.

"Good luck Lionesses," added Princess Charlotte, holding a football in her show of support for the inspiring team.

Prince William doesn't want his children 'exposed in the same way' as him and his brother

A royal journalist has touched down on how Prince William is trying to "protect" his children from the exposure he and his brother Prince Harry had.

Speaking on the Royal Round Up podcast, Richard Palmer was asked whether the Prince of Wales took anything on from King Charles' and Princess Diana's parenting.

He said: "I think the key thing is that he doesn't want to see his children exposed in the same way to media coverage.

"If you think back to pictures of Harry pulling funny faces at the photographers, I just think they are more protected than William and Harry were at that age. I think many people will say that's a good thing, and understandable."
