Thieves steal Roman artefacts in £38,000 raid on Millionaire’s Row house in Surrey
- Two ancient vases disappeared from a house on Ellesmere Place during the raid
- The goods worth £38,000 were stolen from the home between April 1 and July 13
- Police are appealing for anyone with information about the relics to get in touch
Thieves have stolen around £38,000-worth of Roman artefacts during a raid in Surrey.
Two ancient vases were taken from Millionaire’s Row in Walton-on-Thames.
The items are thought to have disappeared from the house on Ellesmere Place – where the average property is worth around £1.16 million – between April 1 and July 13.
One of the vessels is a rotund, mottled black and white pot vase with small handles, while the other is gold-coloured urn which is chipped and worn.
There is a time-frame of more than a month when the two vases worth £38,000 could have been stolen from the property

Police are appealing for anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of the relics to get in touch.
A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: ‘We’re appealing for the public’s help to find these Roman artefacts, which were stolen during a theft from a house in Walton-on-Thames.
‘The theft took place at an address on Ellesmere Place between 1 April 2022 and 13 July 2022. During the theft, two Roman artefacts were taken, which have a total value of around £38,000.
‘We’re appealing to anyone who may know the whereabouts of the Roman artefacts now to get in touch with us.
‘If you have any information that may assist with our investigation, we want to hear from you.’
