Teen, 17, 'ploughs motorbike into crowd of families' at Barcombe bonfire as two women seriously injured | The Sun

TWO women have been left seriously injured after a teen on a motorbike ploughed into crowds at a fireworks display.

Police were scrambled to the horror crash at around 10.20pm last night in Barcombe, Sussex.

Two women aged 67 and 30 were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Three other people – including two children – suffered minor injuries in the drama.

Police confirmed a 17-year-old boy, who was driving the motorbike, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Sussex Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a motorcycle and several pedestrians in High Street, Barcombe, at approximately 10:20pm on Saturday, November 19, in the aftermath of the Barcombe bonfire & fireworks display.

"The road was closed for some time, but has since re-opened. Apologies for any disruption this may have caused."

Anyone with footage or information can call police on 101 quoting Operation Meadow.
