'Three cheers!': ANDREW PIERCE hails Home Secretary for refugee speech

‘Three cheers for Suella!’: ANDREW PIERCE praises Home Secretary for having ‘courage to tell it as it is’ and says Braverman is right to seek shake-up of refugee rules as ‘perhaps only in Iran’ do you need protection for being gay

Suella Braverman today attacked ‘absurd’ international refugee rules as the Home Secretary used a trip to America to demand global reforms.

The senior Tory used a speech in Washington DC to call for an overhaul of the UN Refugee Convention and took a swipe at the European Convention on Human Rights.

In the video below, ANDREW PIERCE declares ‘three cheers for Suella’ following her strong words across the Atlantic.

He says the asylum and immigration system is ‘broken beyond repair’ and agrees the 70-year-old UN Refugee Convention is ‘not fit for purpose’.

‘As she said, it’s no longer good enough to say “I’m gay, therefore I must be entitled to asylum in Great Britain”,’ he says.

‘What? Every single gay man and woman in Africa and Europe can come here because they’re gay?

‘I’m gay, I can say it, it is ridiculous. We do not need extra protection because we’re gay. Perhaps in Iran, where they tend to throw people like me off roofs.’
