Conservative MP appeals for help to track down missing family dog amid fears the border terrier cross which disappeared two weeks ago has been stolen and offered for sale

A Tory MP is appealing for help to find his missing family dog amid fears that it has been stolen or even offered for sale.

Conservative Simon Hoare shared that his three daughters have been left feeling ‘distraught’ as two weeks have passed since their dog Jerry went missing. 

The seven-year-old border terrier cross darted off mid-walk and was last seen in Lydlinch, Dorset on January 27. 

Muddy Paws Crime – a volunteer group that help search for missing pets – is working with Mr Hoare to track down his pet.

The group has asked the public to get in touch if they have been ‘offered a dog for sale like Jerry’.

The North Dorset MP tweeted: ‘Jerry, our terrier has gone missing, AWOL, walkabout.

‘He’s chipped so if found please email me.

‘I’ve three very distraught daughters and Mrs Hoare and I aren’t feeling particularly grand either.’

Muddy Paws Crime said that while the golden red dog has been sighted, but nothing has been confirmed during the last few days. 

A spokesman for the group added: ‘Jerry has been missing for two weeks today.  

‘Jerry will be very scared and his Mum and Dad and three children are desperately missing him.

‘If you have any information please contact Muddy Paws Crime in confidence.

‘Jerry is registered on Doglost and his microchip has a missing alert.

‘If you have been offered a dog for sale like Jerry please get in contact.

 ‘If you have picked Jerry up not realising that he has a family then please get in touch.
