A hotel worker has died after performing a suspected ‘breathing stunt’ in a spa pool at a luxury Scottish resort.
Emergency services were called to Portavadie Spa, near Tighnabruaich, Argyll, on Thursday after hearing reports that a hotel worker was unwell.
Guests were said to have spotted a man floating in the water of the pool. It is believed that the Spaniard, 31, was trying to hold his breath for an extended time.
A hotel insider told The Sun that he regularly practised this technique as it is meant to boost your health and wellbeing.
The man was later airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died.
