DESPERATE holidaymakers were caught racing to secure the perfect sunbeds at the crack of dawn in Tenerife.
The swarm of guests stormed the poolside at the four-star Spring Hotel Bitacora, Playa de las Américas, in a desperate bid to throw their towels down before their rivals.
Chloe Turner captured the morning rush at the TUI "family favourite" resort and shared the footage on TikTok.
It shows a group of people with towels slung over their shoulders waiting patiently next to a gate.
After queueing for as long as 90 minutes, they are then seemingly given the green light to make a move and make a mad dash to the prime loungers.
More travellers then join the scrum and subsequently throw their bags down to claim the best beds as their own.

A later clip shows similar scenes, with some even sprinting for a spot.
Chloe, who said people start queueing from 6.30am but the gates don't open until 8am, captioned the first video: "So I'm in Tenerife and everyone's running to secure their sunbed spot."
She said of the second clip: "Another day, another sunbed war."
Many found the "typically British" behaviour hilarious.

But most described the scrimmage at the Canary Islands haunt, which is just 500 metres from the beach, as "sad" and "a joke" as it looks the furthest thing from a relaxing break.

A third chimed: "It’s sad how they also wait for a nod or something, like who’s going stop you walking over and putting it on?"
And a fourth said: "Can't watch, I get second-hand embarrassment."
Similar sun lounger wars have broken out at other European resorts popular with British tourists.
