A PAIR of savvy entrepreneurs have bought a bunch old planes and converted them into tiny homes – flogging them off for £18,000.
The former fuselages provide alternative living spaces and are so durable they can be hosed down like a car to be kept clean.
The ingenious business idea was sparked after builder Kevin Regan successfully converted an old aircraft into a home office in 2021.
It was initially just a personal project but then his sister-in-law posted pictures of the cabin on social media and it went gangbusters.
Regan told CNN: "We really didn't intend on selling them."
But requests kept pouring in, so Regan approached his pal Shane Thorton and the men created Aeropod.

Pictures showed the recycled commercial airplanes, which had been turned into home offices, glamping pods and even laundry rooms.
The pods are available in customized sizes, ranging from a dinky three-window kitchen to a spacious ten-window bedroom.
Regan said: "It’s just as good as a house.
"There’s no maintenance, just washing – same as your car.

"Some customers are going to wrap them, like you’d wrap your car, but there’s no need to. The painting is perfect."
The first plane they worked with was an IndiGo airline Airbus A320 sourced from Cardiff Airport in Wales.
The initial pod took four months of fine-tuning but now Aeropod have reportedly sold 11 pods since.
And with more than 15,000 aircraft estimated to be due for retirement in the next 20 years, Regan claimed they would capitalise on the opportunity.
Regan said: "Everything else including the floor is the original aeroplane.
"We can deliver it and it’s ready to go, once you have a concrete base in.
"Your office is live."
The pods are pre-made and also have a built-in lifting system so they can be easily moved.
According to Aeropod's website, prices start at £18,000 and can get up to £32,000 for deluxe customisations.
Regan said: "We can deliver these anywhere.
"There is no limitation to where we can take them."
