ELEANOR Williams has been jailed for her web of lies after she made up claims she was raped and trafficked by a grooming gang.
The 22-year-old's victims faced years of suffering, with the judgement finally providing justice for her the men she falsely accused. This is is what we know about her.
Who is Eleanor Williams?
Eleanor Williams is a convicted criminal, who falsified claims that she had been physically and sexually abused by a group from her home town.
Williams claimed she was raped, trafficked and beaten by several men in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.
These were false accusations which garnered the attention of far-right groups due to Williams' claim that the men were part of an Asian grooming gang.
The accused were subject to death threats due to her actions, and also saw their property damaged by those who believed Williams' lies.

On the evening of May 19, 2020, Williams had been reported missing by her family and was then seen by witnesses in a field near to her home.
Officers found her with numerous injuries, and soon after, a blooded hammer was found in the field in which she was located.
Suspicion was raised when it was found that an address Williams' gave to police didn't have anyone living there.
Police also found that a Snapchat account that she claimed to be from an grooming gang was created at her home address.

It turned out that the injuries shown by Williams were inflicted by herself, including the use of a hammer that she was seen buying from a local shop.
A Home Office pathologist said that her injuries weren't consistent with her account, and appeared to be self-inflicted injuries.
These were just two of many other false claims made that were proved wrong by the police.
How long will Eleanor Williams serve in prison?
Williams was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison at Preston Crown Court on March 14, 2023.
The 22-year-old will serve half of her sentence behind bars, and the rest on licence once released.
She was found guilty of eight counts of perverting the course of justice in January.
Sentencing, Judge Robert Altham said there was "no explanation" for Williams' lies as he slammed her for showing "no significant sign of remorse".
