During the morning, approximately 25 friends and customers had called in and according to the friends who visited, Evans appeared relaxed, happy and had made plans to go out that night.

Evans’ handbag, car keys and jacket, along with fruit and flowers that she had intended to take home, were left behind in the shop. Also, no money had been moved from her bank account.

Her car remained parked where it had been left. The last confirmed sighting of her was around 2.30pm that day.

Evans had been away during the week of her disappearance near the coast at Rhuddlan with her husband Richard, who was renovating the couple's holiday bungalow.

However they had returned home on June 13, 1990.

Every household in Llangollen, as well as scores of people from further afield, were interviewed, but to no avail.

The case was reopened in 2001, as police believed that advances in forensic techniques would help to unearth the killer.

However, nothing has come of that to this point.

What has been said about her disappearance?

The disappearance of Evans was the subject of a Channel 4 true crime programme called In The Footsteps Of Killers.
