Woman in 70s stabbed to death at home in West Ashby as man in 50s arrested on suspicion of murder | The Sun

A MURDER probe has today been launched after a woman was knifed to death at home.

Emergency services raced to the Lincolnshire property around noon after reports of an altercation.

There they found an OAP with what was thought to be knife wounds.

The woman, in her 70s, was tragically pronounced dead.

A man in his 50s has now been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The force is continuing to probe the horror, which unfolded at a home in Kirk Close, West Ashby.

Lincolnshire Police this evening said: "A large police presence will remain in the area while enquiries are ongoing.

"We are in the early stages of our investigation and officers are working diligently to understand what happened.

"We are also appealing for any information that can assist with our investigation.
