I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Boy George has broken his social media silence after becoming the fourth contestant to leave the show yesterday. The 61-year-old has responded to fans’ queries about his time on the show and many really wanted to know what really went down with Matt Hancock.

Taking to Twitter, a user named Christine Tidy said he had a “fantastic attitude” towards the media attention he received on the phone, as she claimed he, Chris Moyles and Sue Cleaver were accused of bullying Matt.

George was amongst other campmates who quizzed the MP about his breach of social distancing rules last year.

The 44-year-old was caught kissing his former aide, now girlfriend, Gina Coladangelo at a time when visiting people outside of your household was not allowed.

Shortly after Matt entered the jungle, George said he wasn’t sure if he could stay in camp with him as he remembered not being able to see his ill mum in hospital due to Matt’s rules at the time.

After following Sue Cleaver’s advice and sleeping on it, he decided to stay.

Hitting back at claims he bullied Matt, the singer tweeted: “I think @MattHancock will say otherwise and many will have Ostritch Egg on their faces.

“I treated him with absolute respect. I said what I needed to say and I made some fun digs but there was zero awkwardness.

“He appreciated my directness,” he added, in view of his 488,000 followers.

A viewer named Diana wemt on to tell George that she thought he would’ve grilled Matt more about his breach of rules.

He said: “Not everything is broadcast! I said plenty but in the end I did not want to bully Matt.

“He will not complain about me because I behaved like an adult. There is zero issue between us.

“That might disappoint some but I have no regrets about anything. I’m not five years old! :).”

Another viewer Yaz MorningStar said George must’ve been “shocked” to learn that Matt is supposedly one of the favourites in camp.

He replied: “I actually couldn’t care less. Very little shocks me but my faith in Scorpions has risen! Lol!”

The singer also shut down reports that he wanted to leave the jungle early.

George told his 466,000 followers that there is “zero truth” in the story as he explained: “I had an open mind about it.

“Most campmates said they wanted to leave at some point.

“I did my trials and I smiled through it. Sitting around for hours was hard for everyone.

“I got loads out of it on a deep level.”

Boy George is the first male celebrity to be voted off the show behind female stars; Charlene White, Scarlette Douglas and Sue Cleaver.

He said he was happy to be out of the jungle, but was also happy when he was in there.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
