Coronation Streets Andy Whyment heads golfing with his lookalike son and co-star Sam Aston

Coronation Street's Andy Whyment has taken to Instagram to share a snap of his day out with his son and co-star Sam Aston, who plays Chesney Brown.

In a picture shared on May 30, the three of them can be seen with big smiles as they stood on the course in the sun.

The 42 year old captioned the post: "Lovely day for a round of Golf @worsleypark with @tomwhyment and @samaston93," along with a flag in hole and thumbs up emoji.

Followers took to the comments to say that he hoped that they enjoyed themselves, with one saying that they couldn't believe how grown up Andy's son looked.

"Enjoy the [flag in hole emoji] I can’t believe how much Tom has shot up he’s a lovely young man [smiling face with smiling eyes emoji]".

Andy responded to the comment by saying that his son's growth was "madness".

Another user wrote: "Enjoy gents, perfect day for it and the course is looking good [man golfing emoji]".

A third wrote: "Enjoy, adding two red heart emojis.

The actor, who has played Kirk Sutherland on the soap since 2000, shares son Tom, 14, and daughter with wife Nicola, who he has been with since 2004.

They tied the knot in 2007 and still seem to be going as strong as ever.

Andy has opened up to OK! previously about his wife and their children.

In 2019, when he entered the Australian outback to compete in I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, he said that he would find it tough to leave his family.

“It’s going to be tough not seeing Nic and the kids for so long,

“I at least speak to them everyday even if i’m away, I’ll at least FaceTime them or speak to them, but it could be three and a half weeks without even hearing a word of them,

“It’s going to be tough but there’s a few people in the same situation as me with young kids at home, so we can help each other through it.”

He has also gushed about his wife and featured on his daughter's TikTok, where the two performed a dance trend.

He told OK! that he was "a very lucky bloke".

"She’s gorgeous! I’m a very lucky bloke. We’ve been together 14 years and we just don’t argue. We get on so well.

"I fancied Nic for some time but nothing happened. Then we copped off one night and it wasn’t too long before I realised she was the one I wanted to be with.

"I said in my wedding speech you just know when you meet the one, and that's true."

Ncola, however, said that when the couple first met, he was "a bit of an iditot".

"It was a good few months for me because he was a bit of an idiot when I first met him.

"He was single and sharing a place with Al (Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs). He was just giving it big time and not doing what I wanted him to do."
