Gabrielle Union Teaches Her Daughter Kaavia How to Ride a Bike: "It's on Now!"

The training wheels are coming off (eventually)! On Thursday, Gabrielle Union shared a video of her 3-year-old daughter, Kaavia James, learning how to ride a bike for the very first time. In a clip shared to Kaavia’s Instagram page, Union urges her daughter forward, watching her pedal a pastel pink bicycle across the patio. Kaavia starts slowly at first, and then, with her mother’s encouragement, surges into hyper speed as text reading “mommy I got this” appears across the screen.

“Picture me rollin. It’s on now!!” the caption on the post read. “Whatchall want from the store, I’m about to make a run real quick.” As she learns to put the pedal to the metal, Kaavia wears a pink shirt to match her bike, complete with matching training wheels and streamers on the handlebars.

Together, Union and Dwyane Wade are parents to Kaavia (3), Xavier (8), Zaya (15), and Zaire (20). Wade was also awarded full custody of his nephew, Dahveon Morris, who is 21. But as Wade said in an interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” despite being the youngest in a big, blended family, Kaavia has a personality all her own. “She has her own swag and personality,” he said. “Through the pandemic she kept all of us going and having something to look forward to.”
