Googlebox favourite responds to fan concerns she’s not returning to show with new snap

Popular Gogglebox duo Shirley Griffiths and her husband Dave have responded to rumours that they are quitting the show while enjoying a sun-soaked holiday to Salou.

As they lapped up some downtime from their commitments to the show, the pair shared snaps on Instagram from their Spanish getaway.

However, their time away from Gogglebox has led to speculation from concerned fans that they won't be returning to our screens at all.

Fan favourite Shirley shared a stunning holiday picture of her posing in a black spaghetti strap playsuit while enjoying a trip to the beach.

Viewers were quick to tell her how good she looked, with one saying, "Beautiful as always!"

Another wrote, "Looking good Shirl, enjoy your holiday!"

The couple had written in the caption, "Happy holidays everyone, cheers!"

But some viewers worried the pair were enjoying their holiday a little too much, with some speculating that they would ditch their usual home in Caerphilly for a life in the sun.

One fan said, "Ooh Shirl, you've left us! Just heard you've moved abroad and won't be doing Gogglebox – gutted!"

Another added, "Oh my god, I thought you had left for good. I was gutted!"

But Dave and Shirley jumped to put their fans' minds at ease, confirming they won't be leaving the show or Wales soon, saying, "Don't believe that, love, we're just on holiday, see you in September!"

It comes as the hilarious couch critics admitted that they love to have a tipple while filming the show.

The Gogglebox duo told Ok! that they keep spirits high on the show with a little help from the booze cabinet.

Shirley exclusively told us: "Sometimes me and Dave have a little bit too much… We get a little bit drunk!"

And with the pair feeling so jolly while filming, they are often left worrying about what they might have said.

Dave explained: "I've had it where I've thought, "Should I have said that?"'

Shirley agreed with her husband of almost 50 years, continuing, "Swearing. I think, "Oh, I shouldn't have said that!" Sometimes you just forget."

Offering insight into what a typical day of filming looks like, they revealed that their day begins when the crew turns up on a Sunday and starts filming around 3 pm.

Dave says, "We get some snacks in as we've got a pretty long watch. Things like crisps, nuts, chocolate…"

Shirley adds, "We just buy what we want, and they pay for it!'"
